It was organized by Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, SIMS on 25th - 26th January, 2010 at Kodai Resort Hotel, Coaker’s Walk, Kodaikanal,Tamil Nadu. Prof (Dr) R. K. Sharma, HOD, Forensic Medicine, SIMS and President, Indian Association of Medico-legal Experts (Regd) was the Chief Organizing Secretary and Dr Gurav Aggarwal, Associate Professor was the Joint Organizing Secretary. The conference received participation from seven countries including Kuwait, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Iran, Malaysia and Nepal.

The conference was a huge success and attended by more than 90 delegates. The conference was spread over 2 days and constituted guest lectures by eminent specialists in the field of Forensic Medicine, Forensic Science, Law and other allied clinical specialities. More than 50 scientific papers were presented and brainstorming sessions were organized over medical negligence and litigation related issues.
